Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate and Certified Trauma Informed Yoga Therapist
Master of Arts in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology, Naropa University, Boulder, CO
I am a psychotherapist and trauma informed yoga therapist in Denver, CO, and owner of Mindful Awakening Counseling & Wellness. I'm dedicated to holding space for you to explore the challenging experiences and scary obstacles that have occurred throughout your life. Those experiences are opportunities for repatterining and change to occur within your mind, body, and heart.
A free 30-minute consultation is available for you as an opportunity to meet one another, discuss any questions you have, and a time for you to share your reasons for seeking therapy. We will work together to explore your identified reasons and needs.
Are you questioning change at this time of your life? The positive news....Change can occur! We are able to change our thought patterns, breath, neural pathways, and signal to the nervous system that we are safe and "okay."
As a trauma informed yoga therapist, a safe space is created to support symptoms related to anxiety, stress, and trauma. Through the teachings of yoga techniques and philosophy, neuroscience, and breath, our work together assists in your learning of self-regulation, breathing techniques, and change in response to triggers. Trauma Informed Yoga Therapy uses movement, breath, neurophysiology, and Eastern teachings to support the re-wiring of neural pathways in the brain to help resolve traumatic memories and activate the parasympathetic nervous system, our "rest and digest" system.
Challenges and struggles may include/not limited to depression, anxiety, stress, self-identity/existential issues, developmental trauma, relationships, body image, role of female, distorted self worth & self love, relationship with body, and unwanted patterns and/or thoughts.
Approaches and modalities include: Trauma Informed Yoga Therapy, Overcome Anxiety Project, Trauma-Informed, Attachment Based, Developmental, Relational, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Transpersonal, and Mindfulness
