Upside to Upcycling
What is upcycling and why are we so interested in it at Violet Hive? Upcycling is the opposite of downcycling, which is the other half of the recycling process. For us, it is a way to save money on materials and be responsible as we make art as a nonprofit and community organization.

PRE-EARTH DAY UP-CYCLED MATERIAL DRIVE AT VIOLET HIVE
SATURDAY, APRIL 21, 2018, 10AM- 12PM (SHORTER TIME DUE TO WEATHER)
The items below will be drive items we are collecting to use in art making with our onsite studios and mobile programming.
- fabric, ribbon, yarn, crochet thread, lace
- floss containers
- grape tomato plastic (clamshell)
- buttons (in packages ok)
- craft wood, wood sticks
- pipe cleaners, pompoms. feathers
- wine corks & beer bottle caps
- yogurt containers and lids (Noosa etc.)
- glass jars with lids
-baby food & medium-sized, spaghetti sauce jars
- aluminum foil, freezer, wax paper
plastic caps (milk, OJ, soda, Gatorade, all colors)
any art supplies still usable (paint, watercolors, etc.)
glue guns, mod podge, glue sticks, Elmer's glue
